發(fā)質(zhì)的類(lèi)型由頭發(fā)的天然狀態(tài)決定，即由身體產(chǎn)生的皮脂量決定，不同的發(fā)質(zhì)有不同的特性，那么應(yīng)該如何判斷自己屬于何種發(fā)質(zhì)呢？
1、中性發(fā)質(zhì)：如果頭發(fā)不油膩，不干燥，那么這種頭發(fā)屬于中性發(fā)質(zhì)，是光澤、柔順、健康的發(fā)質(zhì)。軟硬適度，油脂分泌正常，只有少量頭皮屑。

2、干性發(fā)質(zhì)：如果頭發(fā)無(wú)光澤、干燥、容易打結(jié)，特別是在浸潤(rùn)的情況下難于梳理，且通常頭發(fā)根部頗稠密，但至發(fā)梢則變的稀薄，有時(shí)發(fā)梢還開(kāi)叉，那么這種頭發(fā)屬于干性發(fā)質(zhì)。干性發(fā)質(zhì)是由皮脂分泌不足或者頭發(fā)角蛋白缺乏水分，經(jīng)常漂染或用過(guò)熱溫度洗發(fā)，天氣干燥等造成。

3、油性發(fā)質(zhì)：如果頭發(fā)細(xì)長(zhǎng)、油膩、需要經(jīng)常清潔，那么這種頭發(fā)是油性發(fā)質(zhì)，缺乏光澤。由于皮脂分泌過(guò)多，而使頭發(fā)油膩，大多與荷爾蒙分泌紊亂、遺傳、精神壓力大、過(guò)度梳理以及經(jīng)常進(jìn)食高脂食物有關(guān)，這些因素可使油脂分泌增加。發(fā)絲細(xì)者，油性頭發(fā)的可能性較大，這是因?yàn)槊恳桓?xì)發(fā)的圓周較小，單位面積上的毛囊較多，皮脂腺同樣增多，故分泌皮脂也多。
